NÚCLEO CINEMATOGRÁFICO DE DANÇA
Maristela Estrela is a dancer, director, choreographer and teacher. BA in Dance and Dance Pedagogy (Universidade Anhembi Morumbi-SP). She went through schools and masters in São Paulo that devoted themselves to cross art and science as support for the formation of the creator and performer. Among them: Maria Duschenes, Maria Melô, Klauss Vianna, Zélia Monteiro, Neide Neves, Denilto Gomes, Alice k, Tião Carvalho and others. From 1998 to 2006 she trained at the Estúdio Nova Dança (São Paulo) with several artists and researchers. She was part of the collective of artists, researchers and teachers of the Estúdio from 2001 to 2006.
She is co-founder and co-director of Núcleo Cinematográfico de Dança since 2002.
Conducts research for teaching and creation of dance, since 2002 through regular classes and workshops. She is also the director of the 16 Mulheres 1/2 - a study group of dance and performance.
She worked for Cia. Oito Nova Dança and Cia. Perdida. She is also a partner artist of Balangandança Cia. since 2006.
She coached several artists and companies in São Paulo, among them Jorge Gar.Cia de Dança, Grupo Zumbi Boys, Cia. 4 pra nada, Silvia Geraldi Cia. De Dança, Cia. Giz de Cena, Marília Coelho and Coletivo Cartográfico.
Living in Germany between 2015 and 2016 she joined a residency at Lake Studios Berlin, worked as a creator and performer at the Minako Seki Company on the project The Forest as Musical Score (Der Wald als Partitur) and as a performer at Topic Tropic and 44flavours by visual artist Jan Brokof.
